Distributed
Communications
BDATech systems are communication platforms that allow integration of a variety of radios and VDL devices without the need for external modems or smart cables. This embedded technology facilitates JTACs fires mission, SA development and maintenance.
Integrated
Radio KDUs
BDATech systems integrate the PRC-117G, PRC-148 and PRC-152 into remote Keypad Display Units (KDUs). Easy access to all KDUs makes configuration of the radios seamless. The KDU has the same look and feel of the radio the Operator is wearing, so the learning curve for radio configuration is nonexistent for Operators who are already proficient with their radios.
Mission Configurable
The APEx Predator System (APS) and MTS system allows a warfighter to transition from computer operation to direct tactical engagement in seconds with a wearable system that is incorporated into a compact plate carrier system, without compromising any of the certified ballistics protection. A warfighter doesn’t need to stop, put down gear and lose time in a stationary position while powering up or repacking equipment. Black Diamond’s goal was to approach the wearable computer solution as a complete system, providing true “on the move” performance and situational awareness for a variety of applications, including targeting (JTACs, TACPs and Forward Observers), Combat Medics, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Combat Weather and Military Intelligence.
APEx Predator System
The APEx Predator System provides POWER + DATA to enable communications from tactical radios and peripherals to commercial tablets, computers and smartphones running both Windows and Android operating systems.

BDATech
Cables
Easily and quickly connect end-user devices of choice directly to your radio with Black Diamond cables.
Multiple Radios /
Peripherals
Incorporating the APEx Predator System enables you to connect 4 radio peripherals devices and manage them from a single end-user device. You can also daisy chain additional APEx Systems together or Black Diamond’s Tactical I/O Expansion Hub.

Power
Management
Employing Black Diamond’s power management system allows you to power and charge your tactical solution from a single battery system (5590/2590), ensuring you’re operational when you need to be.
“Trickle-Charge”
Mode
In battery trickle-charge mode, the Wedge is designed to maintain the charge of the installed radio battery and slowly recharge (a.k.a., trickle-charge) that radio battery. In this mode, the wedge will keep the radio battery topped off except during times of extended radio.
Battery Elimination
Battery eliminator mode reduces weight of the entire system by removing the need for the radio battery and any spare batteries that might be carried. It also reduces the height of the radio, and when positioned at the front right or front left of the body, leaves extra room for shouldering a weapon.
System Battery Charge
Recharge the main system battery every time you jump into a vehicle or even scavenge power from other batteries.
